The short answer
We do not have a price for Total VPN, and we are not going to produce one. What we can tell you is what happened when we looked.
Our reviews record what we could verify on a provider's own pages, plus independent sources, on a stated date. For Total VPN that check returned less than it does for the providers we rank: no price we could hold to, no stated device limit, no jurisdiction. The refund window was the one figure we could pin down, recorded as 30 days with a 14-day variant.

What we looked for, and where
The check is deliberately dull. We read the provider's own pricing page, its terms, and its refund policy, and we record the figures with the date we saw them and the region we saw them from. Prices differ by country, so a figure without those two qualifiers is close to meaningless.
We do not take prices from coupon sites, affiliate round-ups or cached screenshots. Those are the places where a stale number survives longest, and where the incentive runs towards the lowest figure anyone ever saw rather than the one you will be charged.
When that process returns nothing, the honest output is nothing. Filling the gap with a plausible figure would make every other number on this site worth less.
Why a published price matters more than the number itself
A price on a provider's own page is a commitment you can point at later. It sets the terms of the argument if the charge does not match.
It also tells you something about how the company is organised. Publishing a price means the renewal terms, the plan tiers and the refund window all have to line up in public. A provider that keeps the number behind a checkout flow has less to reconcile, and you have less to check.
This is why we treat a missing price as a finding rather than an inconvenience. It is not proof of bad faith. It is an absence of the evidence we would need to rank the provider at all.
What a headline price usually hides
Where a price is published, the figure is almost never what you pay per month. The pattern is consistent across the industry, and it is worth naming so you can spot it anywhere.
The advertised monthly figure is a division. A two-year plan billed once up front, divided by twenty-four.
The first term and the renewal are different prices, and the renewal is usually the higher one.
The cheapest tier may exclude what you assumed was included, which is a separate question from the price.
The figure you see depends on the country you are browsing from.

The point is not that these are the right prices for you. It is that each one came off the provider's own page on a date we recorded, and you can check us.
The refund window is the part that protects you
When a price is uncertain, the refund window carries the weight. It is the mechanism that turns a purchase into a test.
Two details decide whether it is worth anything. The first is length, and thirty days is the common standard rather than a generous exception. The second is what triggers it, because some windows are shorter on monthly plans than on annual ones, which is the reverse of what people assume.
Establish that window before you pay, from the provider's own terms page, and note the date you paid. That is the whole of the protection, and it only works if you use it before it closes.
If you are considering Total VPN anyway
Nothing here says do not. It says find out first, and do it in a specific order.
Get the price from the checkout flow itself rather than a landing page, since that is the figure that will be charged. Get the renewal price from the terms, not the sales page. Get the device limit in writing if you need more than a couple. And note the refund window with the date.
If any of the four cannot be established from the provider's own material, you have learned the same thing we did, and you now know it before the charge rather than after.
Where this leaves it
Our ranking is seven deep because seven is what we can keep current, and the order is decided by what we can verify. Total VPN is not excluded for failing a test. It is outside the seven because the material needed to run the test was not there.
