Atlas VPN is gone. The company's own site states that as of April 2024 the service has been permanently discontinued and is no longer available. This page is kept as a record of what Atlas VPN was, and as a pointer to what to use instead.
What happened
Atlas VPN shut down in 2024. Its website now carries a single notice and nothing else: the service has been permanently discontinued and is no longer available. There is no app to download, no plan to buy, and no support desk behind it. The affiliate domain the company used, partner.vpnatlas.com, is now a parked page offering the domain for sale.
Atlas VPN was part of Nord Security, the group behind NordVPN. We are not passing on a migration offer on anyone’s behalf here. If you still have a billing question from an Atlas VPN subscription, it belongs with whoever took the payment. The app store you bought through, or the card issuer.

What Atlas VPN was
Founded in 2019, Atlas VPN was positioned as the cheap and simple option rather than the fully featured one. The details below describe what the provider published while the service operated. They are history, not a recommendation.
It ran a free tier with a monthly data cap, which is what most people picked it for. Connections used WireGuard, with IKEv2/IPSec before that; OpenVPN was never supported. The company was registered in the United States. The server network was smaller than that of the larger providers and concentrated in North America and Europe.

If you used Atlas VPN, three things worth doing
Check that nothing is still billing you
A subscription bought through the App Store or Google Play renews through the store, not through the provider, and a shut-down service does not automatically stop that. Open your store subscriptions and confirm there is nothing active. If you paid by card, check the statement for a renewal after April 2024.
Remove the app and the profile it left behind
Deleting a VPN app does not always remove the system-level VPN profile it installed. On iOS that lives under Settings, General, VPN & Device Management; on Android under Settings, Network, VPN; on Windows and macOS in the network settings. An orphaned profile from a dead service does no good sitting there.
Removing the app is the first step; the account comes after.
Replace it on the basis you actually cared about
Most people who used Atlas VPN chose it for one of two reasons: it was free, or it was cheap. Those are different problems with different answers, and it is worth being honest with yourself about which one you have before picking a replacement.
Where to go instead
If it was the free tier you used, Proton VPN is the one to look at first: it runs a free plan with no data cap, funded by its paid subscriptions, and it is registered in Switzerland. If it was the price, Surfshark sits at the low end of our ranking without the compromises of a free service. If you want the closest thing to a continuation of the same company, NordVPN comes from the same group.
Whichever you land on, the money-back window is the part that matters. It is the only way to find out whether a service is fast enough on your connection and works with the things you use it for, and the ranking page sets out what else is worth checking before you commit.
Test the replacement on the thing you actually bought it for.
Why this page still exists
