Is The Hunger Games on Netflix?
Yes in the United States, until 13 October 2026. All five released films arrived on Netflix US on 14 July 2026, on the standard plan and on Standard with Ads. Netflix lists them as leaving on 14 October 2026, so 13 October is the last day.
Almost nowhere else. I checked 18 countries live on 27 September 2026 through the JustWatch API. Only the US had all five. Canada, Australia and New Zealand carry the 2023 prequel, The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes, and nothing else. The UK, Ireland, the Netherlands, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Sweden, Poland, Mexico, Brazil, India, Japan and South Africa carry none of the five.
Netflix runs in more than 190 markets. I checked 18.

The mistake nearly every page makes
Two mistakes, and they compound.
The first is treating the five films as one block. In the 18 markets I checked, the 2023 prequel sits with a different set of services from the original four, and in several of them the two move in opposite directions. In the UK, Ireland, the Netherlands, France, Italy and Mexico it is in no subscription while the original four are. In Canada, Australia and New Zealand it is the only one on Netflix. So "they are on Netflix Canada" is wrong, and so is "they are not".
The second is printing the American answer as the answer. ScreenRant, on 5 July 2026, reported the films streaming from 14 July 2026 with no territory and no end date. Netflix's own leaving list names no market either. Copy either and you publish something already false in 17 of my 18 countries.
What Netflix US has, and until when
The five: The Hunger Games (2012), Catching Fire (2013), Mockingjay Part 1 (2014) and Part 2 (2015), plus The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes (2023). Sunrise on the Reaping streams nowhere. It reaches cinemas and IMAX on 20 November 2026.
Arrival and departure are separate facts. The deal surfaced in the trade press around 17 to 21 June 2026 and took effect on 14 July 2026. JustWatch gives 2026-10-13T23:59:59Z per film and Netflix says 14-10-2026, which agree. After 13 October I found no US subscription with the original four, only buy or rent, and no successor announced. The claim that HBO Max holds the four originals in the US I could not reproduce; HBO Max does carry them in Germany and Sweden.
Where the films live, and why the map keeps moving

United Kingdom: the original four free on BBC iPlayer with a TV licence, and on Disney+ until 1 October 2026. Prequel purchase only, from £7.99.
Netherlands: the original four on Videoland. Prequel purchase only, €7.99 at Pathé Thuis.
Germany: the original four on Disney+, HBO Max, RTL+ and Joyn+, the prequel on Joyn+. Austria and
Switzerland unchecked.
Canada: Crave, Disney+ until 14 October 2026, Amazon channels. Prequel on Netflix.
Australia: Prime Video until 1 January 2027, Stan until 12 July 2027, free on SBS On Demand. Prequel on Netflix and Stan.
Ireland: Disney+ until 1 October 2026. South Africa: nothing found.
Lionsgate owns all six films and no longer owns a streamer, having separated from Starz on 6 May 2025. The windows I found all opened in the first half of 2026, months before the new film. Netflix has the US set, Disney+ has several European markets plus Canada, Australia and New Zealand, and Prime Video has Spain, Italy and Australia. Whether that is one licensing round or several, and on what terms, Lionsgate has not said. Several of these windows close within a fortnight of each other: Prime Video Spain 29 September, Prime Video Italy 30 September, Disney+ in the UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand and Spain 1 October, Netflix US 13 October, Disney+ Canada 14 October. Others do not. Prime Video Australia runs to 1 January 2027 and Stan to 12 July 2027.
Buying versus subscribing, worked out
United States: the five film collection is $40 at the Apple TV Store, against Netflix Standard with Ads at $8.99 a month, a price in force since 26 March 2026. At that list price the set is about 4.4 months of the ad plan, so one month wins if you finish by 13 October. The collection is discounted often though, to $20 in April 2026 and to $5 in August 2026, so check its price before buying films one at a time: on that kind of offer it beats a single month and you keep the films. The set costs about 2.8 months of the ad plan, so one month wins if you finish by 13 October. One film beats one month.
Netherlands: a month of Videoland Basis is €6.99, a price in force since 3 March 2026, and it carries the original four. Pathé Thuis lists the prequel from €2.99, and the buy price sits above that. A month of Videoland plus one Pathé Thuis transaction is the cheap route here, and buying the set outright is not. A single purchase costs more than a whole month here.
United Kingdom: four of the five are free on BBC iPlayer with a TV licence, so buying the set makes little sense. Buy or rent the prequel and stop. I found no end date for the iPlayer window, so check it before you plan around it. Prices are from those stores on that date, and the $4.99 looks promotional.
What I could not establish
Roughly 170 Netflix markets are unchecked. Netflix's 14 October removal names no country, so the US is my inference and not a proven fact, and JustWatch gives no end date for the prequel in Canada, Australia or New Zealand. Where the US five go after 13 October is unannounced. Sunrise on the Reaping has no streaming date: Starz holds the exclusive first window under a deal running through 2028, then Prime Video in the US under a deal announced on 29 January 2025. Dates circulating online are journalists' arithmetic. Every end date here comes from JustWatch, not the streamers, and provisional dates move, so check the title in your own Netflix app.
What a VPN does and does not do here
A VPN changes the network location your connection appears to come from. It does not change your billing region, it does not add a title to the plan you pay for, and it can conflict with a service's terms. If these films are not in your Netflix library, a US server does not create a licence. From 14 October no server location helps, because they leave Netflix US too.
