Is Smallville on Netflix?
Almost every page answering this copies a seven-country list from a press report dated 8 January 2026. It was incomplete on day one and out of date within six weeks, which is why the answer you read elsewhere is probably wrong for your account.
The answer splits by territory. In the United States, Smallville is not on Netflix, and Hulu is the only subscription route I could confirm. JustWatch also lists Amazon Prime Video for the United States and I could not establish whether that is the included catalogue or a channel add-on, so check your own Prime library before you pay for anything. Apply the same wording to the summary bullet, to the short answer and to the first FAQ. Outside the United States it arrived on Netflix on 13 January 2026, all ten seasons. On 27 September 2026 I confirmed it live in nine countries: Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Canada, Australia, France and Italy. The Netherlands got it later, on 24 February 2026.
United States: no Netflix. Hulu only, $12.49 a month on 27 September 2026.
Elsewhere: announced 8 January 2026, live 13 January 2026, ten seasons.
Netflix runs in 190-plus markets. I checked ten and can support about thirty.
Germany was live from day one and was never in the copied seven-country list.
Switzerland has two routes, Netflix and HBO Max. Germany and Austria have three, because Joyn streams all
ten seasons free with ads.

The seven-country list is wrong twice over
The January reports (whats-on-netflix on 8 January, dailyplanetdc on 9 January) named Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Italy and Austria. Germany went live the same day, 13 January 2026, according to Filmstarts, and was not in the seven. Those reports also excluded Latin America, yet on 26 February 2026 ScreenRant reported FlixPatrol data with Smallville at number one in Mexico and in the top six in roughly fifteen Latin American markets. A title cannot chart where it is unavailable.
Replace both sentences with: "A second whats-on-netflix page shows how fast this ages. That evergreen, last updated on 17 October 2024, says it is \"likely that Smallville will never make its way to Netflix, at least in the US\". The hedge and the territorial limit were both fair at the time. The page has simply not been updated since the international release on 13 January 2026, and it is still the page a lot of people land on."

Routes and shop-front prices on JustWatch, 27 September 2026, checked one country at a time.
United States: Hulu ($12.49), no Netflix, HBO Max only inside a Hulu bundle
Germany: Netflix (6.99 euro with ads, 15.99 euro), HBO Max (5.99 euro)
Austria and Switzerland: Netflix and HBO Max, both routes on each
United Kingdom: Netflix (7.99 pound with ads, 13.99 pound), no HBO Max
Ireland: Netflix, and Sky Store sells seasons from 16.99 euro
Canada, Australia, France, Italy: Netflix, ten seasons (no HBO Max in Italy)
The licence is rented, not owned
Warner Bros. Television made the series, on DC Comics characters, and Warner Bros. Discovery owns it today. WBD runs HBO Max, a Netflix rival, yet licensed it out anyway: the US to Hulu, other markets to Netflix, while HBO Max carries it directly in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Its own spin-off Superman & Lois stayed on HBO Max in the US.
WBD is itself being acquired by Paramount Skydance, announced and not completed: approved by shareholders on 23 April 2026, then halted by a restraining order on 20 July 2026, after which the parties agreed to postpone closing until five days after the court rules or 1 June 2027, whichever comes first. Twelve state attorneys general settled on 21 September 2026 and the WGA settled the same day, and the deal was still not closed on 27 September 2026. Netflix bid for the studio arm and withdrew on 26 February 2026, so this is rented shelf space.
Buying versus subscribing, with the sum done
United States: seasons start at $24.99 at Amazon Video, the Apple TV Store and Fandango At Home, so ten cost at least $249.90 against Hulu at $12.49 a month, about twenty months. United Kingdom: seasons start at 14.99 pound at the Apple TV Store, Amazon Video and the Sky Store, so ten cost at least 149.90 pound, about nineteen months of the 7.99 pound tier or eleven of the 13.99 pound tier. Germany: seasons start at 14.99 euro at the Apple TV Store and Amazon Video, so ten cost at least 149.90 euro, about twenty-one months of Netflix with ads or twenty-five of HBO Max. Per-season prices are not flat, so read every total as a floor.
So the full series costs between eleven and twenty-five months of subscription, depending on the tier you compare it against, and it only comes close to breaking even against the cheapest ad tiers. One season is roughly two months on those tiers. Both sums look worse once you know the series streams free with ads on ITVX, Joyn and M6+. Also update the summary bullet to read: "* Buying ten seasons costs eleven to twenty- five months of subscription. One season, about two." Two caveats: the Apple and Amazon full-series bundle is usually far cheaper than ten single seasons and swings hard in price, so I quote per-season prices only; and maxdome (Germany, Austria) sells eight seasons, VIVA and Premiere Max (France) nine.
What I could not establish
Ten territories were checked live. Everything beyond them is weaker.
The Netherlands was not checked live: JustWatch gave 404, then 429. FilmVandaag shows Netflix with ten seasons, Scriptgirl.nl gives 24 February 2026, Beeldnet.nl wrote "since 13 January". Two sources beat one, but it is a judgement.
Roughly 24 further territories, Finland, Sweden, Romania and Cyprus included, rest on FlixPatrol data reported on 26 February 2026, which proves availability then, not today.
No end date is public for either licence, and no Netflix US arrival has been announced.
Replace the sentence with: "Three of those are not unconfirmed scrapes. ITVX carries all ten seasons free
with ads in the United Kingdom, Joyn carries them free with ads in Germany and Austria, and M6+ carries them free with ads in France, and each is confirmed on the broadcaster's own site. BINGE, SFR Play, Molotov and Prime Video appear on the same JustWatch pages and I could not confirm any of them, and Apple TV here is near certainly the store, not Apple TV+." Then amend three lines in the route list to read: " United Kingdom: Netflix (7.99 pound with ads, 13.99 pound), ITVX free with ads, no HBO Max" / " Germany: Netflix (6.99 euro with ads, 15.99 euro), HBO Max (5.99 euro), Joyn free with ads" / " Canada, Australia, France, Italy: Netflix, ten seasons, plus M6+ free with ads in France (no HBO Max in Italy)". And add one summary bullet: " Free with ads in three of the nine: ITVX in the United Kingdom, Joyn in Germany and Austria, M6+ in France."
The Hulu page redirected to disneyplus.com, so read the US route as Hulu, also reachable inside Disney+. Asia, Africa, the Middle East, Eastern Europe beyond Romania and Belgium are unknown. Sources give 217 and 218 episodes.
