Is Prison Break on Netflix?

Why it left, and what would have to happen for it to come back
Prison Break was made by 20th Century Fox Television. Disney bought Fox in 2019, and Disney owns Hulu and Disney+. That ownership explains where the permanent home is. It does not on its own explain the Netflix removal, because Disney went on licensing the title to Netflix for years after the purchase.
What Disney sells Netflix is a window, not a home. In December 2023 it licensed fourteen library series to Netflix on a non-exclusive basis, most of them from the Fox catalogue, Prison Break among them. All five seasons arrived on Netflix US on 29 July 2024, ending a seven-year absence that had begun in October 2017.
The windows were fixed from the start: roughly eighteen months in the United States, twelve months internationally. Both ran their course. Nothing was pulled early, nothing was disputed.
So "it is never coming back" overstates it. It has already come back once. What would have to happen is simply that Disney sells another window, which it has shown it is willing to do when the price is right. What makes that less likely this time is the reboot, and that is the next section.
Where all five seasons actually are
Hulu, in the United States
Hulu carries the complete run, all five seasons, including the 2017 revival season. For US viewers this is the direct answer and has been since the Netflix removal.
Disney+, under the Hulu hub, outside the United States
Outside the US the series sits on Disney+, in the Hulu hub rather than in the main Disney catalogue.
That hub used to be called Star. Disney renamed it Hulu across its international markets on 8 October 2025, and Japan is now the only country where the Star name survives, because Disney does not own the Hulu brand there. If you have looked on Disney+ and not found the show, check that the Hulu hub is visible on the profile you are using. Parental settings hide that entire hub, and it is the most common reason people conclude the title is absent when it is not.
Buying it, and when that is actually cheaper
All five seasons are sold per season and per episode through the usual digital stores. Buying makes sense for one season or a handful of episodes.
Buying the whole run does not. At list price the five seasons come to several times a single month of a streaming service. Where a service in your market carries the show, one month you cancel afterwards is the cheaper rewatch. Do the arithmetic before you click buy, because the per-season price makes it look cheaper than it is.
The reboot, and why it matters for this question
Prison Break: Black Creek, written and run by Elgin James, was ordered to series by Hulu in October 2025 and entered production in September 2026. No premiere date has been set.
Hulu has said it is coming to Hulu, and to Hulu on Disney+ for eligible US bundle subscribers. Reporting puts it on Disney+ internationally, though that part has not been announced by Disney itself.
That matters here because it changes the incentive. A studio investing in a new season of a property wants the back catalogue on the same service as the new show, so viewers arriving for the reboot can watch the original without leaving. That is a better reason to expect the original to stay inside the Disney family than any general rule about studios and competitors.
What a VPN does and does not do here
A VPN changes the network location your connection appears to come from. It does not change your Netflix billing region, it does not add a title to your plan, and it cannot produce a title that exists on no Netflix catalogue anywhere.
