Is Pretty Little Liars on Netflix?
No in the United States. Yes in four of the 27 markets checked on 27 September 2026. Netflix operates in more than 190 countries, so "it is on Netflix" and "it left Netflix" are both wrong as global statements.
In the US the series sits on HBO Max and on Hulu. Netflix's own title page for Pretty Little Liars, loaded from a US address in Utah, returns `isAvailable: false`. A control check on Stranger Things from the same address returns `true`, so the measurement is real and not a blocked request.
Netflix does carry all seven seasons in Canada, Germany, Austria and Switzerland. It does not carry them in the US, the UK, Ireland, the Netherlands, Australia or 18 other markets that were checked. Roughly 165 further Netflix markets were not checked at all, and this page does not guess at them.

Most articles answer one country and call it the world
This is the trap on this query. Almost every page answers for the US, and the US answer is no. That answer is flatly wrong in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Canada, where all seven seasons are on Netflix right now.
The cost of getting it wrong runs both ways. A German reader who reads the American answer buys a VPN for something already sitting in their own account. An American reader who reads a German answer searches Netflix for a title that is not there.
So check your own account first. Open Netflix, search the title, and believe what your account shows over what any article says, including this one. Licensing windows move, and a page verified on one date is a snapshot, not a standing fact.

United Kingdom: free on BBC iPlayer, all seven series, plus HBO Max (the service launched in the UK on 26 March 2026), Prime Video on subscription, and HBO Max resold as a Prime Video channel.
Ireland: HBO Max (from 26 March 2026) and Prime Video channel.
Germany and Austria: Netflix, HBO Max (the service launched in both markets on 13 January 2026), RTL+, Prime Video, and free with adverts on Joyn. The German listing is confirmed independently by werstreamt.es on 25 September 2026.
Switzerland: Netflix, HBO Max (the service launched in Switzerland on 13 January 2026), Prime Video.
Canada: Netflix and Prime Video. HBO Max does not operate there.

Those HBO Max end dates are contract windows in provider metadata. They get renewed as a matter of routine. Do not read them as announced removals.
Buying the box set against subscribing for two months
Seven seasons is 160 episodes of about 43 minutes, roughly 115 hours. At two hours a day that is eight weeks.
In the US, buying all seven seasons costs $144.93 at Fandango At Home and $156.93 at Amazon Video. The Apple TV Store and Google Play also sell it, usually for more. Two months of HBO Max with adverts is about $22. Buying is about six and a half times the cost of watching it through once.
One season is a different sum. The cheapest single season is $9.99 at Fandango At Home, less than one month of HBO Max at $10.99 or Hulu at $11.99, and you keep it. Most seasons cost more than that, closer to $20, so check the price of the season you actually want before you assume buying wins. One season, buying can make sense. Seven seasons, only if you want it for more than a year.
In the UK, buying is wasted money while iPlayer carries the lot for free, against £69.93 at Amazon or £104.93 at Apple and Sky Store. In Germany the full set runs from €44.99 at maxdome Store to roughly €110 at the dearest shop, better than a factor of two apart, and the series is already on five services there.
Five different things carry this name
Aggregators get this wrong, so readers do too. There is the original series, 2010 to 2017. There is Ravenswood, one season, free with adverts on Tubi and Plex in the US. There is Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists, one season, which in the US is purchase only and on no American subscription service. There is the HBO Max reboot, one show with two subtitles, Original Sin in 2022 and Summer School in 2024, cancelled in September 2024 on an unresolved cliffhanger. And there are the international remakes and the Sara Shepard novels. There is no film.
Two more name traps. Hulu in the US is a Disney service, Hulu in Japan is hulu.jp, owned by Nippon TV, a wholly separate company, and since 8 October 2025 "Hulu on Disney+" is also the name of the former Star hub outside the US, with Japan excepted for exactly that reason. None of the Disney+ hubs carry this series in the markets checked.
Warner owns it, and Warner has a rival service
Warner Bros. owns and distributes the show. It aired on ABC Family, which became Freeform in January 2016, and that channel was Disney's, which is why Hulu and HBO Max both hold it in the US.
That ownership is the structural reason this is not a global Netflix title. Where Warner Bros. Discovery has launched HBO Max, the title sits there. The four Netflix licences are old non-exclusive deals in markets where Warner had no service of its own. In Germany, Austria and Switzerland it now runs on both at once, which proves the Netflix deal is not exclusive.
On the takeover: Netflix agreed on 5 December 2025 to buy Warner Bros., meaning the studios and HBO Max, at $27.75 per share. That was put at $72.0 billion in equity value and $82.7 billion including debt, and it did not cover the Discovery cable networks, which were being separated off. Paramount Skydance went hostile on 8 December 2025 with an all-cash offer of $30 per share for the whole of Warner Bros. Discovery, about $108.4 billion including debt. It raised that to $31 per share on 26 February 2026 and Warner Bros. Discovery accepted the next day, valuing the whole company at about $110 billion. That figure covers the Discovery networks as well, so it is not a like-for-like number against Netflix's bid for the studios and HBO Max. US Department of Justice antitrust clearance came on 12 June 2026, and a settlement with state attorneys general on 21 September 2026. As of 27 September 2026 the transaction had not closed. Announced is not effective, and Netflix lost.

Coverage is 27 markets out of 190 plus. Denmark and Norway failed to load, South Korea returned no local offers, and nothing is claimed about the Middle East, most of Asia, Eastern Europe or Africa beyond South Africa.
There is no sourced date for when the series left Netflix US, so no date is given. Licence end dates are contract windows, not removal announcements.
