Is Law & Order: Special Victims Unit on Netflix?
Yes and no are both wrong on their own here. The answer depends on which country you watch from. In the United States, SVU is not on Netflix at all. Outside it, Netflix carried the show in all seven markets checked on 27 September 2026, but only five seasons of twenty-seven.

The trap in almost every answer to this question
The standard line is that SVU was pulled from Netflix US and that a VPN is the way back. That is upside down. The US is the market where Netflix does not carry it, and the one with all 27 seasons, on Hulu. A VPN to the US gives an American reader less, not more.
"Yes, it is on Netflix" then sells five middle seasons as a run of twenty-seven. Put the season count next to the yes.
Netflix lists the show under a local title in some markets, so an English-title search can return a false zero. Confirm the exact local title in your own catalogue. The English title returns a false zero there.
Netflix in the United States: not there
The US listing shows Hulu with 27 seasons, Peacock Premium with 15, live carriage on NBC and USA Network, and purchase at Amazon Video. Netflix is not on it.

Netflix elsewhere: five seasons out of twenty-seven
Each of the seven non-US markets checked listed five seasons. In the UK the ad-supported tier listed the same five.
In the UK, seasons 12, 15 and 16 were confirmed present at season level. The remaining two of the five were not identified, so the likely run is 12 to 16, with 13 and 14 unconfirmed. For the other six markets only the number of seasons was visible, not which ones, so the specific window outside the UK is unconfirmed. The same block elsewhere is a guess.
Bigger catalogues sit off Netflix: Globoplay 21 seasons in Brazil, Amazon Prime Video 11 in the Netherlands. In markets outside the United States, Disney+ carries a Hulu hub that took over from the Star hub on 8 October 2025, with Japan keeping Star.
Why the picture is split
SVU is made by Wolf Entertainment and Universal Television for NBC. Universal Television is NBCUniversal, which owns Peacock, a direct Netflix competitor.
So the owner keeps the series in-house at home and licenses thinly abroad: five middle seasons to Netflix, recent ones to local broadcasters. Seasons 24 to 27 were on no Netflix catalogue checked.
Season 28 premieres on NBC on 8 October 2026, so it has not aired. The US listing gives a Peacock Premium date of 9 October 2026. That is an effective date; the announcement date is not known here. Peacock already holds 15 seasons, so it reads as the premiere arriving a day after broadcast, not the series moving.
Buying a season against paying for a month
Prices move and differ per store, so treat the figures below as orders of magnitude. Treat them as orders of magnitude.
In the US, seasons were listed from about $34.99 and episodes from about $1.99, against Hulu at about $12.49 a month. All 27 seasons bought is roughly $945, about 76 months of Hulu. One season is about 2.8 months of it, and those months give you all 27. Episodes are the worst buy. A 23 or 24 episode season bought one episode at a time at about $1.99 comes to roughly $46 to $48, well above the $34.99 season price.
In the UK, seasons ran about GBP 9.99 to 16.99, well above one month of Netflix on its cheapest ad- supported tier. Buying seasons 12 to 16 comes to roughly GBP 50 to 85 at those prices, against one month of Netflix that shows the same five. Prices vary by store and by country, so check the price in the store you actually buy from.
