Is 1883 on Netflix?
It depends on the country. In the United States, no. On 27 September 2026 the only US subscription route is Paramount+, including its channels on Amazon, Apple TV and Roku. Buying the season also works: Amazon Video, the Apple TV Store, Fandango at Home.
Outside the US the answer often flips, though every checked market that has it sits in Europe or the Americas. Of 17 countries checked on 27 September 2026, 1883 was on Netflix in 11 and absent in 6. That is 17 of more than 190 Netflix markets, and the series is there on a Paramount licence. Licences end.

The mistake almost every answer makes
The first mistake is one answer to a question with more than 190 answers. "1883 is on Netflix now" came off the British and German catalogues in March 2025; the opposite claim came off the American one. Both fail as global claims. Language does not track licensing either: Germany and Austria have it, Switzerland does not; the Netherlands, Sweden and Poland have it, Spain does not, and all four are SkyShowtime markets.
The second mistake is reading Taylor Sheridan news as 1883 news. Lawmen: Bass Reeves, developed as 1883: The Bass Reeves Story, reached Netflix in the United States on 1 June 2026. It is a separate show that no longer takes place in the Yellowstone universe, and it says nothing about 1883. Mayor of Kingstown was announced on 8 September 2026, effective 5 October 2026, so it is not there yet. Neither is 1883.

Announced 12 February 2025 with the US excluded, live 12 March 2025 in the UK, Canada, Germany and Latin America. The other Netflix countries came later, on dates not established here.
Why the United States will not change soon
Taylor Sheridan created 1883 and Paramount holds the rights, trading since the 2025 Skydance takeover as Paramount Skydance. It runs Paramount+, a direct Netflix competitor, so at home the series sells subscriptions while abroad the licence fee is worth more.
Netflix did license about 20 Paramount titles on 20 January 2026, and SEAL Team is on Netflix in the United States as a result. No Yellowstone title was in that package, and Mayor of Kingstown, which was, only arrives on 5 October 2026. Paramount Skydance agreed to buy Warner Bros. Discovery in February 2026, and a settlement with state attorneys general in September 2026 cleared the last antitrust obstacle to closing. The deal had not closed on 27 September 2026, and it changes nothing about where 1883 streams today. That deal is not closed.
Paramount+ is the permanent home
In every checked market where Paramount+ is sold standalone, 1883 is on it. Where it is not, a partner carries it: SkyShowtime in Spain, the Netherlands, Sweden and Poland, and JioHotstar in India. Switzerland has both routes, Paramount+ and Sky. Cancel Paramount+ because Netflix has 1883, and you swap a permanent home for a temporary one.
It ran ten episodes from 19 December 2021 to 27 February 2022 as a limited series. Plans to extend season one were reversed, so nothing is pending.
Buying versus subscribing
Buying a complete series normally costs several months of subscription. One season is the gentler case, and 1883 is one season, so buying can land nearer one or two months. Prices differ by country, shop and month, so check the season you actually want. For the rest of the Sheridan run, subscribing wins.
What this page does not know
Seventeen markets were checked; Netflix runs in more than 190. Japan, Korea, Portugal, Africa, the Middle East and south east Asia were not, and eastern Europe only through Poland. Nothing here means worldwide.
No licence end date is known for any market. 1883 arrived in March 2025, and licences of this kind often run one to three years, so it can leave without notice. Listings that put 1923 on Peacock in the United States are out of date. On 27 September 2026 the US subscription route for 1923 is Paramount+, the same as for 1883.
Any list naming Star+, Lionsgate+, Starzplay or Disney+ Hotstar is out of date: Star+ closed in July 2024, Lionsgate+ and Starzplay left most of Europe and Latin America by 2024, Disney+ Hotstar became JioHotstar in February 2025, and the Star hub on Disney+ became Hulu in October 2025.
